We love to skate
Impala was launched in late-2017, after Globe CEO Matt Hill and his brother Stephen Hill, Globe’s Co-Founder and Executive Director, noticed that women in their late teens and early 20’s were increasingly roller-skating by the beach in both Australia and the U.S. Impala pays homage to the yesteryears of rollerskating, with a modern take on colour and shapes. “The customer is very similar to the young women who were buying cruiser lifestyle skateboards a few years back” says Matt Hiill. Impala is currently stocked in both boardsport and fashion retailers globally. “It’s a small base of course, but the take up by retailers has been really encouraging,” Matt said. “We’re really surprised about how fast it has been accepted. We sold out of our first shipments much faster than we thought.” Impala Rollerskates has shown at a number of trade shows, including Pitti (Italy), Agenda (USA), Know Show (Canada), Liberty Fairs NYC (USA) and Surf Expo (USA), generating interest and new stockists globally. Featuring a PVC upper, heels and sole, metal speed lace eyelets, aluminum alloy trucks and baseplate, 58mm 82A durometer nylon core urethane wheels and ABEC 7 bearings, the Impala rollerskate is constructed of high quality components at an entry level price.
