DNI, the Paris-based Peru-inspired conscious brand
With their DNI brand, Peruvian twins Paulo and Roberto Ruiz Muñoz take us on a journey to discover a new Peru: conscious, steeped in history and tradition, but far from any cultural cliches.
Brand: DNI
Designer: Paulo and Roberto Ruiz Muñoz
Based in: Paris, France
Inspirations: Peruvian craftsmanship, chica culture, circular and sustainable fashion
Style: Garments made with recycled fabrics from luxury stocks and jewelry embellished with reused woods, coins, and chains. The knitwear is handmade in Peru to support the economic independence of small communities.
Passions: Heritage, research, contamination. The brand's history has its roots in the personal memories and anecdotes of the two Peruvian designers who, looking to the past, managed to create a new language to express the present and build the future.
Now: The new collection has an evocative title, "My grandfather was a tailor." Workwear becomes elegant; the new suit revisits formalwear in shapes and colors. Sometimes, mixed with monochrome denim.
