KEY PIECES: Lardini’s knitted jacket remains from the main collection is a standout, available not only in classic cotton and linen, but also in stitch patterns and designs that embellish the garment. From the “Luigi Lardini: Self-Portrait as a Suit,” the Baiadera suit jacket pairs smartly with the tonal polka dot shirt in a natural palette. From the “Lardini by Yosuke Aizawa” collection is a new waterproof outerwear range assembled without seams, featuring laser cuts that define the garment’s shape and heat-welded seams on the inside.

I’ve waited a long time to design a collection [“Luigi Lardini: Self-Potrait as a Suit”] on which I’ve literally put my face, embroidered on T-shirts, because I think that this is the perfect time to reaffirm the pleasure that I have always taken in dressing. I am starting with intimate references to arrive at a universal invitation: to express oneself through fashion and the combination possibilities of a simple, but not basic, and sophisticated, but not eccentric wardrobe

— Luigi Lardini, Creative Director

EDITOR NOTES:

This season sees two special projects from Lardini. The first is “Luigi Lardini: Self-Portrait as a Suit,” takes inspiration from the designer’s personal memories, such as his use of green, derived from the blanket he was wrapped in when he was born, to his baptism certificate which is sewn into each jacket. The second is “Lardini by Yosuke Aizawa,” a collaboration with the Japanese designer, featuring outdoors wear made with high-performance and weather resistant fabrics.
