OqLiq debuted with its 2020F/W collection.This season continues the oriental concept, incorporating high-end performance styles into the tailoring of street fashion, forming oriental style of design with tradition and new. The clothing material is inspired by the concept of sustainable design. Recycling the remaining clothes sewing into the contemporary style patchwork, technology functional fabrics mixed with oyster shells powder, 100% recycled PET Polartec fabric, oqLiq integrates contemporary oriental minimalism into the characteristics of performance clothing. The design concept implant the Tai Chi symbol and the Zen spirit into the tailoring details. Such as the yin and yang ideas is not only presented with layerings of cutting but also extended through magnetic buckles throughout all the clothing of this series. oqLiq keeps digging the projection of life and translating the value from Taiwan's multiculturalism into fashion. oqLiq is the brand of high-end performance fashion created by designers Chi Hong and Orbit Lin from Taiwan. After 10 years of exploration in the apparel industry, oqLiq extracted their own design language from the Asian street-style. Combined with the research and development advantages of Taiwan textile industry in the global clothing supply chain, the aesthetic of oqLiq merged Oriental simplicity with street fashion concepts to redefine the look of outdoor clothing style. oqLiq continues to explore new fabric technology and design application, recycle the materials such as the yarn mixed with oyster shell powder or the leather coated with dam sediment mud, oqLiq dig out the performance of technology fabrics with the concept of sustainable design, and was honored by Red Dot design award and IF design award. With the unique texture and the urban outdoor style, oqLiq, the emerging brand hiding in Taiwan has gradually attracted the attention of fashion buyers in South Korea, Paris and New York. With officially stands on the run way stage of New York Fashion Week 2020, oqLiq hope to complete this challenge as a prelude to open up the international fashion market, and also spread out the modern life style of Oriental island and the romantic thinking of oqLiq brand.

Orbit Lin & Chi Hung, a designer duo based in Tainan, Taiwan. Orbit used to be an internet engineer from a rigorous technical training background. Chi is a designer from a fine art background. Although neither Orbit nor Chi has received authentic fashion design training, they start the fashion design career with a strong passion and interdisciplinary cogitation. Since their studenthood, they were both fascinated by skateboarding culture, vintage, and Ura-Harajuku culture. These cultures and so do the oriental local culture are both strongly inspired the works. Taiwan, especially Tainan is well-known for being the R&D base of high-end technology fabrics. This gives them a great advantage to try on different fabrics made of multiple recycled materials. Such as polyester textured yarn or leather made by dam sediment. The "Bi-birth sludge leather" which combines the design of the shoes won the Red Dot Award and the IF design awards. We’ve also used oyster shell powder mixed with plastic pellets made from recycled PET bottles into a great multi-function material for temperature adjustment, deodorant, anti-bacterial, anti-UV, etc. From experimenting with sustainable fashion materials to expecting each traditional tailor-made process, Orbit & Chi enjoyed the process of exploring the unknown area. They keep dismantling cultural symbols from where they from and giving new meaning to the collection. Such as studying Taiwan native blue dye, integrating the traditional Chinese font into the new cutting, shaping the bulrush weaving hat into the Alishan's contour model. They believe exchanging ideas with professionals in different fields always enlightens for unlimited possibilities.
