In 1972, Joaquín Asensio founded Aselag, a company located in a beautiful town near Madrid, very famous for its melons as well as for its production of wine and oil, in which Joaquín's family had businesses. 

In the beginning, Joaquín located the factory in the center of the town, employing mainly relatives of the people who already worked in the family agricultural businesses. 

Joaquín had previously worked in an important Catalan textile company where he had acquired extensive knowledge of the business.

Aselag's first collections were mainly based on men's pajamas and robes. Joaquín quickly commercialized these lines in the main shopping centers in Spain. 

In 1988 Joaquín's eldest son, Ángel Asensio, joined the company after finishing his studies in Marketing and Business Management.
 
Ángel knew that he had to maintain the high quality that his father had given to the product, but at the same time he was sure that they lacked the development of the brand as a concept, and he quickly got to work on it.

In 1990 father and son presented Kiff-Kiff with a West Highland dog as the company logo.

The westie was the family dog ​​at the time, demonstrating the brand's conceptual vocation: family and friends.

Kiff Kiff was the name of a winning horse, horse riding is a sport that the whole family is very fond of. And that's how the brand's motto was born: Family & Friends.
