Brand Profile
Edizioni EL is set to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2024. The publishing house originated in Trieste in 1974 when it separated from Editoriale Libraria, a company deeply rooted in a prestigious tradition dating back to the mid-19th century. Since 1976, it has been under the leadership of Orietta Fatucci, who is still at the helm today, alongside her daughter Gaia Stock.
In the 1980s, EL played a pivotal role in major literary innovations, one notable example being the introduction of gamebooks that disrupted the linear narrative structure, exemplified by the successful «Lone Wolf» series.
The 1990s marked the acquisition of two esteemed brands: «Einaudi Ragazzi», known for its narrative fiction and home to collections such as the historic «Storie e rime»,
with over seven hundred published books. Above all, it brought Gianni Rodari's work into the catalog whose centenary was celebrated in 2020.
On the other hand, the brand «Emme Edizioni», primarily caters to early childhood, featuring illustrated albums by various authors and an extensive project aimed at fostering early reading habits.
Favole al telefono, Boscodirovo, Cipì, Il Gruffalò: these are just a few of the most beloved and enduring titles in the catalog of Edizioni EL / Einaudi Ragazzi / Emme Edizioni.
A world of stories capable of offering young readers the pleasure of reading and, at the same time, an opportunity for reflection and growth.
