Brand Profile
Edizioni Clichy was founded in Florence in October 2012 from the vision of Tommaso Gurrieri and Franziska Peltenburg-Brechneff, and has been an independent publishing house since its very beginning, with a strong and consistent identification both in the choice of texts and in the type of books, which are also immediately recognisable in material terms. Distributed and promoted throughout Italy by ALI, Edizioni Clichy is characterised by a distinct Francophilia, and to mark this "colour", even the names of the various series directly recall places in Paris: Gare du Nord, Rive Gauche, Carrousel, Place d'Italie, Beaubourg, Bastille, Sorbonne and Père Lachaise. Different and alternative paths, ranging from contemporary French, Anglo-American and Italian fiction to the classics, from illustrated children's books to non-fiction, from varied literature to biographies, and now also Italian fiction, to reach different types of readers, under the common denominator of quality and beauty in both writing and content. In its more than ten years of existence, Edizioni Clichy has won important awards, such as the National Prize for Translation of the Ministry of Culture, the Nati per Leggere Prize, the Andersen Prize and the Malerba Prize, and many projects created and realised by Clichy have been translated and published in France, Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Greece, Bulgaria, Korea, China, Argentina, Spain and Portugal.
The publishing house is headed by Tommaso Gurrieri, who takes care of the entire publishing project and the graphics of all production since its founding and Franziska Peltenburg-Brechneff as co-director and general coordintor, supported by Maria Pia Secciani as Senior Editor in charge of the picture books for children series.
Edizioni Clichy counts on the valuable work of Francesca Ciuffi, Elisa Frilli and Silvia Lombardini as editors, Matteo Francini for the press office and the editorial work and Filippo Taddia as Comunicaton and Social Media Manager.
