The Department of "Education, Languages, Interculture, Literatures and Psychology" (FORLILPSI) at the University of Florence is structured as an interdisciplinary department that encompasses research areas ranging from Education Sciences and Psychology to Languages, Philologies, and Literatures. The Department's purpose is to conduct research and promote educational paths in the field of languages, cultures, behaviors, training, and education, investigated in relation to various texts and historical-cultural contexts in their spatial and temporal dimensions.
An integral part of the department, the Open Access Publishing Workshop (LabOA), advocates for an open access policy to scientific literature, engages in research activities related to Digital Humanities, and provides orientation and training services. LabOA also promotes experimentation in the field of scientific and cultural communication, carries out editing and layout of volumes and journals, and manages the creation and administration of scientific and scientific-educational environments and websites.
Closely connected to the Department and LabOA is the first-level Master in Print and Digital Publishing at the University of Florence. The program aims to train professionals with expertise in the sector, providing them with knowledge and skills to assume various roles in the publishing industry. Specifically, it aims to educate experts in different areas of the publishing sector with theoretical knowledge and technological skills for managing editorial projects, as well as operational abilities related to the productive processes of the book.
