Jade and Benoît, a young couple of French thirtysomethings have a shared passion: travel. After several months travelling across the world from Ibiza via Cuba, Brazil, Mexico and Australia, stopping off in Hawaii on the way, they finally settled in Bali, where Indonesian culture made perfect sense to them! Coming from the world of Parisian fashion, Jade has always had a strong taste for beautiful things. It was therefore natural that she should, alongside Benoit, decide to create a brand which represents what they are, with a bohemian, creative and authentic range. Their desire was to create a fashion brand which was accessible to all, using noble materials and with maximum respect for nature. They design the models and take the photographs. Poppy Field the label is a simple, Bohemian and elegant range inspired by the travels of the couple who created it. It is the fruit of a mix of cultures, the influence of a country and the emotion of its inhabitants. Through their experiences, Jade and Benoit have managed to create a brand which is chic, timeless and which, most of all, respects the environment and human rights. Indeed, they use noble materials such as silk, rayon, vegan leather (which does not undergo any chemical treatment, with tree bark oil being used instead), and batik, a traditional Indonesian fabric which is an integral part of the country’s culture. They decided to work with a small factory owned by a woman, who furthermore is a feminist and only employs women! Respect for the rules is very important for this director; her employees are all adults, only work for 5 days out of 7 (in Indonesia the average working week is 6 or even 7 days per week) and are paid a wage above the Indonesian average. The company only works with artisans who do not use chemical products. Production is traditional and handmade!
