Donegal Yarns is nestled between the hills of southwest Donegal on the coast of the Wild Atlantic Way. Our mill can trace its heritage to the early tradition of hand spinning, which dates back centuries. Irish tweed yarns were spun, woven and knitted in local homes.
About a century ago these traditional natural fibre products were introduced on the international markets and since then ‘The Genuine Donegal Tweed’ has earned world-renowned recognition.
Irish made: We operate a complete vertical production process from raw wool, through dyeing, blending, carding and spinning to a finished multi-colour flecked yarn targeted at the weaving, knitting and craft industries. All products are made in Ireland with production carried out in our wool spinning mill in Kilcar, Co Donegal, Ireland.
