The Accademia Sistina, a renowned musical theatre training school based at the Teatro Sistina in Rome and directed by Massimo Romeo Piparo – acclaimed director, theatre producer, and television author – will bring a series of audition-classes to Danzainfiera this year. These sessions will be led by English choreographer Billy Mitchell and will focus on the musicals Matilda, Cats, Billy Elliot, as well as a special workshop on West Side Story. Adding to the excitement, the kids Cast in costume from the musical Matilda will participate in the Friday and Saturday audition sessions.

But that’s not all. As per tradition, Danzainfiera will also host Musical: Il Concorso, an internationally recognized competition organized by Professione Danza Parma. This contest is dedicated to musical theatre repertoire across all eras and is aimed at non-professional performers, offering them a chance to showcase their talent and develop artistically.

This year, the competition will open with a special performance by the cast of Cats – the acclaimed production by Massimo Romeo Piparo, which has broken records in previous seasons. The show will return to Italian theatres, with upcoming performances at Teatro Verdi in Florence (February 21-23) and Teatro Sistina in Rome (from May 8 onwards).
