In northern Lombardy, on the border with Switzerland, Valtellina (Sondrio province) is a paradise for nature lovers and sports enthusiasts, especially cyclists. It offers hundreds of kilometres of routes, including the Sentiero Valtellina (114 km) and the Ciclabile Valchiavenna (42 km). From the alpine climbs of Stelvio, Gavia and Mortirolo to MTB routes immersed in nature, there are routes for every level, from Madesimo to Livigno, from Valmalenco to Bormio. In autumn, Wine Bike Tours allow you to discover the wine side of the region. The Raetica Classica offers a green itinerary connecting Valtellina with Switzerland. Between one bike ride and the next, stop at refuges to taste Bresaola, Valtellina Casera, Bitto and pizzoccheri, accompanied by Valtellina Superiore or Sfursat. For the more adventurous, the Bike Parks in Bormio, Valmalenco, Madesimo and Livigno offer downhill and gravity trails. The Enjoy Stelvio Valtellina initiative closes the famous Alpine passes for cyclists and hikers. Valtellina is also home to numerous bike-friendly events and offers a network of dedicated services for cyclists.
