The history of Northwave is rooted in the footwear district of Montebelluna (TV) and is marked by significant milestones. Calzaturificio Piva was founded in 1971 and transformed into Northwave in 1991.

Specializing in the production of snowboard boots, the company entered the world of cycling in the early 1990s, quickly capturing global attention with its innovative and distinctive approach. The common thread has always been technical and design innovation. This is a history of success intertwined with that of numerous champions. Among them are Paola Pezzo, Mario Cipollini, Tom Boonen, Philippe Gilbert, Filippo Ganna, Matej Mohoric, Arnaud de Lie, and Lukas Flückiger.

Northwave maintains its dual focus (bike and snowboard), establishing itself as a brand with an authentic Italian touch in the production of footwear and technical apparel. It continues to write crucial chapters in cycling history, as demonstrated by the Veloce Extreme, developed in collaboration with Olympic champion Filippo Ganna and entirely produced in Italy. Thanks to the Powershape HT sole, this shoe offers a significant advancement in performance. With a 9% increase in stability, a 15% reduction in perceived effort, and a 4% increase in maximum power output, it is the ideal choice for those seeking maximum efficiency and comfort. Northwave's ARS 2.0 technology, lighter than the previous version, supports the arch of the foot by wrapping and protecting it to optimize power transfer to the pedals. The micro-perforated upper, with underlap construction, offers a snug and uniform fit without pressure points, improving ventilation and comfort thanks to laser cuts.
