With an innate passion for speed, Daniele Bennati was one of the strongest Tuscan cyclists of his generation, winning the points classifications at the Vuelta a España and the Giro d'Italia. Affectionately nicknamed "the Panther" for his agility and speed, he amassed 54 career victories, including three stages at the Giro, six at the Vuelta, and two at the Tour de France, including the triumphant finish in Paris on the Champs-Élysées. Wearing the blue jersey, he often served as the team captain during races. For two seasons, he was a television commentator for Rai. Since 2021, he has been the head coach of the Italian national men's road cycling team.
