3T is an Italian company located in the province of Bergamo, where it manufactures carbon frames for road and gravel bikes using innovative technologies and patented processes within its own factory. The history of 3T begins in Turin in 1961 with the founding of Tecnologia del Tubo Torinese. To understand the evolution of this leading brand in the component and bicycle manufacturing sector, it is necessary to review some key milestones.
In 1967, the company changed its name to 3ttt and established itself by providing lightweight and durable handlebars to professional riders. In 1983, it launched the world's first aerodynamic road handlebar, used by Francesco Moser for the hour record in 1984. In 2000, the brand became the current 3T, and in 2003, it introduced the first handlebar specifically designed for female ergonomics. In 2007, 3T returned to professional sponsorship, achieving successes such as the 2008 Tour de France victory with Carlos Sastre and the 2012 Giro d'Italia win with Ryder Hesjedal.
Another important date is 2016, when 3T began producing frames and complete bicycles, establishing itself in the gravel segment where it was a pioneer with "Exploro": an aero frame designed also for off-road use. In 2018, the Italian carbon factory was established in the Presezzo plant, for a completely made in Italy production. The first product was the aero crankset Torno, the lightest and fastest on the market. In 2019, the assembly of bikes entirely in Italy began.
On the occasion of its 60th anniversary, the first frame produced in the Italian factory was launched: the "Racemax Italia", another milestone in a history of success that continues to this day, with 3T committed to bringing as much production as possible back to Bergamo. In the 2024 made in Italy range, Strada Italia stands out, a versatile bike designed to offer aerodynamics and comfort thanks to a new geometry and optimized wide tires.
